The new IBM 8277-524 is an intelligent 10/100 Ethernet workgroup switch. The low-cost, high-function new IBM 8277 Model 524 is equipped with 24 10/100BaseT switch ports and an uplink slot for optional high-speed Fast Ethernet or ATM sub-modules. In addition, the Layer 3 switching capability and extensive VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) support make the new IBM 8277 Ethernet RouteSwitch Model 524 a leading-edge solution for today's workgroup switching system.
