The Alcatel OmniCore 5010 provides for the capacity of 10 Gbps of bandwidth. The Alcatel 5010 comes standard with 20 auto-sensing 10/100BaseTX ports and two 1000BaseSX (OC-5010-1021) or 1000BaseLX (OC-5010-1022) Gigabit Ethernet ports. The Alcatel OmniCore 5010 is designed for deployment directly to the backbone to help off-load IP and IPX routing from traditional routers in environments that need distributed routing.
