The Alcatel OmniStack OS-8008 is a 8-port Gigabit Ethernet Switch with SC style connectors. The Alcatel OS-8008 is a 1.5U High, 19" rack mountable unit.
The Alcatel 8008 features:
- 802.1p for traffic prioritzation
- IGMP filtering and snooping for controlling packets sent to multiple users
- Broadcast control for preventing traffic storms across the network
- 802.3x flow control to prevent packet loss on heavily used ports
- Connectivity via redundant, trunked Gigabit lines
- Inherent resiliency features like Spannying Tree
- External Redundant power supply
- Supports standards-Based VLANs
- Enables secure groupings of end users
- Full duplex Gigabit port aggregation - up to four ports in one link
- With an adress table of up to 12000 MAC addresses, the Alcatel 8008 supports multiple Fast Ethernet workgroup switches
- Industry standard SNMP traps and RMON probes
- Port mirroring allowing detailed analysis of traffic crossing any port in real time
- SWeb-based management tools for easy switch configuration access
