IBM 5494 Twinax Remote Controller

The IBM 5494 Remote Controller provides access for twinax (AS/400) remote workstations users.  Three models of the IBM 5494 Twinax Controller are available: the IBM 5494-EXT, IBM 5494-001 and the IBM 5494-002.

The IBM 5494-001 supports up to 56 twinax I/O devices   via a v.24, v.35 or x.21 communication lines. 

The IBM 5494-002 supports up to 80 I/O devices while communicating over SDLC, X.21, or X.25 connection. In this manner, the IBM 5494 supports up to 80 devices of which up to 56 could be twinaxial attached and the rest token-ring attached.

IBM 5494 Highlights:
