IBM 8228-001 8-Port Token Ring MAU. The IBM 8228-001 MultiStation Access Unit (MAU) was the first Token Ring Hub announced by IBM. The IBM 8228 is IBM's low cost MAU targeted at small workgroup LANs using Type 1 ICS cabling. Up to 32 IBM 8228's can be connected together providing 256 node capacity.
