IBM 8240 FDDI Concentrator

IBM 8240 Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI) concentrator. The IBM 8240 FDDI hub attaches up to 24 devices on a 100 Mbps FDDI network. The IBM 8240-001 FDDI concentrator is the primary model used by most users while the IBM 8240-002 is a model designated for US Government Federal applications. The Concentrator Control Module (p/n: 02F9703) is shipped standard with both the IBM 8240-001 and the IBM 8240-002 FDDI Concentrators. The IBM 8240 #9773 feature (p/n: 02F9733) must be ordered to provide multimode connection to the FDDI network. Use any combination of up to six of the IBM 8240 #9783 (p/n: 02F9783) or IBM 8240 #9793 (p/n: 02F9793) attachment modules for a total of twenty four FDDI connections. The IBM 8240 #9783 is the 4 port Optical Fiber Device Attachment Module while the IBM 8240 #9793 is the 4 port Copper Device Attachment Module.
