Ascend CBX500 ATM Backbone Switch
The Lucent CBX 500 Switch provides ATM services for both the public carrier and private network. The 16 slot high performance ATM backbone switch, the Lucent CBX 500 provides high port densities up to 64000 nodes per network. Dedicated signal processing, advanced distributed processing and network topology management are among the features providing integrated access to the full range of ATM services and support of the Lucent CBX/500.
The Lucent CBX 500 (a.k.a - Cascade 500) has the following types of modules:
- Switch Processor (SP) - controls the switch and interacts with multiplex Input/Output Processor Modules.
- Switch Processor Adapter (SPA) - provides for the physical interface and connections for the SP's.
- Input/Output Processor (IOP) - accommodate numerous interface specifications, speeds and protocols.
- Flow Control (FC) - Control and prioritize the data flow control through the CBX 500.
- Input/Output Adapter (IOA) - Physical connections for the IOP's.
- Power Supply
- Cooling Fan
